Attitude

You catch up with a slow-moving farm tractor on a narrow country road. What should you do?

  • Overtake immediately, even on a bend
  • Be patient and wait until it is safe to overtake
    Correct
  • Sound your horn until the tractor pulls over
  • Drive very close behind to hurry the driver along

Why?

Rule 147 asks you to be patient and considerate towards other road users. A tractor may not be able to pull over easily, so hold back at a safe distance and only overtake when you can see it is clear and safe to do so.
