Attitude

You reach a crossroads in a country lane that has no signs or road markings. Who has priority?

  • Traffic on the wider of the two roads
  • Whoever sounds their horn first
  • Traffic turning right always goes first
  • No one has priority, so approach with great care
    Correct

Why?

Rule 146 says that in side roads and country lanes you should look out for unmarked junctions where nobody has priority. Slow right down, be ready to stop, and make eye contact with other drivers before deciding who goes.
