Essential documents
Your insurance policy lists you as a 'named driver'. What does this mean?
- Anyone at all is allowed to drive the car
- Only the drivers actually named on the policy are covered to drive itCorrect
- The registered keeper is not allowed to drive it
- You are covered to drive every car on the road
Why?
On a named-driver policy, only the people listed by name are insured to drive that car. Someone who is not named is not covered, and driving without cover is against the law. Insurance is a required document in Annex 3 of The Highway Code.
