Hazard awareness
You feel tired on a long drive. Why is this dangerous?
- Tiredness makes your reactions faster
- Tiredness only affects night driving
- Tiredness slows your reactions, so you need to restCorrect
- Opening the window fully cures tiredness
Why?
Rule 91 of The Highway Code says driving when tired greatly increases your risk because it slows your reactions. Plan rest stops on a long journey and, if you feel sleepy, stop in a safe place — fresh air or the radio is not a lasting cure.
