While driving you hit and injure a dog that ran into the road. What must you do?
- Stop, and report it to the policeCorrect

- Only stop if the owner happens to be watching
- Move the dog aside and then leave without telling anyone
Why?
Rule 286 of The Highway Code says you must stop after a collision that injures an animal such as a dog, horse or farm animal. If you cannot find someone responsible for the animal to give your details to, you must report it to the police as soon as you can, within 24 hours.
