You call 999 after a crash on a country road. Why is it important to give the exact location first?
- So the operator can decide who was at fault
- Because you are charged more if the call is long
- So you do not have to describe the injuries
- So help can still be sent if the call is cut offCorrect
Why?
Annex 7 of The Highway Code says to give clear details when you call 999 or 112. Giving the exact location first means the emergency services can still send help if the call drops, for example if your phone loses signal. Then describe the vehicles and any casualties.
