- Quickly and close, to spend less time alongside
- Wide and slow, at no more than 10 mph, leaving at least 2 metresCorrect
- With your horn sounding to warn the driver
- Only by revving hard to get past fast
Why?
Rule 215 of The Highway Code says to take care around horse riders and horse-drawn vehicles, pass wide and slow at a maximum of 10 mph, and leave at least 2 metres of space. Loud noise or a close pass can frighten the horse.
