Safety and your vehicle
After going over a bump, your car keeps bouncing up and down several times. What does this suggest?
- The tyres are over-inflated and perfect
- The brakes are working extra well
- Nothing, as all cars bounce like this
- The shock absorbers or suspension may be worn and should be checkedCorrect
Why?
Good shock absorbers settle the car quickly after a bump; if it keeps bouncing they are probably worn, which reduces grip and control. Annex 6 of The Highway Code says the suspension must be in good order, so have it checked.
