Safety and your vehicle

Where must you never fit a rear-facing baby seat?

  • In any rear seat of the car
  • In a car that has more than two doors
  • In a seat where the seat belt is fastened
  • In a seat protected by an active frontal airbag
    Correct

Why?

If the airbag went off it would hit the baby seat with great force. Rule 101 of The Highway Code says a rear-facing baby seat MUST NOT be used in a seat protected by an active frontal airbag, so deactivate the airbag or use a different seat.
