Vehicle handling
You are driving towards a low, bright sun and are dazzled by the glare. What should you do?
- Slow down, use your sun visor and stop if you cannot seeCorrect
- Speed up to get past the glare quickly
- Switch on your main beam to balance the light
- Close your eyes briefly until it passes
Why?
Rule 237 of The Highway Code says that if you are dazzled by bright sunlight you should slow down and, if necessary, stop. Use the sun visor to cut the glare, because you cannot drive safely when you cannot see the road ahead.
