Vehicle loading

You are about to carry a full car load of people and luggage. What might you need to adjust?

  • The clock on the dashboard
  • The colour of the seats
  • The number of doors
  • The tyre pressures, following the handbook
    Correct

Why?

Rule 98 of The Highway Code says you should make sure your vehicle can carry the load safely. Many handbooks give higher tyre pressures for a full load, so check and adjust them; correctly inflated tyres keep the heavily loaded car stable and safe to stop.
