Essential documents
You have a 'third-party, fire and theft' insurance policy. What extra does it cover compared with third-party only?
- Repairs to your car after any accident you cause
- A courtesy car whenever yours is in a garage
- Legal costs for any driving offence
- Your car being stolen or damaged by fireCorrect
Why?
Third-party, fire and theft covers the same as third-party only, plus loss or damage to your own vehicle caused by fire or theft. It still does not pay to repair your car after a collision you cause; only comprehensive cover does that. Insurance is a required document in Annex 3 of The Highway Code.
