You approach roadworks controlled by temporary traffic lights showing red. What must you do?
- Treat them as advisory and drive through slowly
- Follow the car in front through, even on red
- Ignore them if you cannot see any workers

Why?
Rule 288 of The Highway Code says at roadworks you must obey all signs and signals, including temporary traffic lights, and must not exceed any temporary speed limit. They control a narrow or shared section, so wait for green.
