Motorway rules
At night on a motorway, what do white reflective road studs mark?
- The central reservation
- The lanes and the lines between themCorrect
- The left edge of the carriageway
- The entrance to a service area
Why?
Reflective studs are colour-coded to show the road layout. Rule 132 of The Highway Code says white studs mark the lanes and the gaps between them; red mark the left edge, amber the central reservation, and green the slip road and lay-by entrances.
