Other types of vehicle
In snowy weather you are behind a snowplough that is throwing out snow. When may you overtake it?
- As soon as you find any small gap
- Never, overtaking here is always illegal
- Only when the lane you want to use has been cleared and it is safeCorrect
- Whenever the snowplough slows down
Why?
Rule 231 of The Highway Code warns that snowploughs may throw out snow on either side, and tells you not to overtake unless the lane you intend to use has been cleared. Stay well back until you can see it is safe.
