Rules of the road

You are approaching a mini-roundabout. Which vehicles should you normally give way to?

  • Vehicles approaching from your left
  • Vehicles waiting to enter opposite you
  • Vehicles already on the roundabout, coming from your right
    Correct
  • Any vehicle following behind you

Why?

Mini-roundabouts are treated like normal roundabouts, so you give way to traffic already on the roundabout coming from your right. Rule 188 of The Highway Code adds that there is less room to manoeuvre and less time to signal, and you should avoid making U-turns.
