Safety and your vehicle
Before driving, why should you check your mirrors are clean and correctly set?
- So the car looks tidy inside
- Because mirrors must be tinted by law
- So you can see clearly behind and to the sides while drivingCorrect
- Because mirrors help cool the engine
Why?
You rely on your mirrors to know what is happening around you. Annex 6 of The Highway Code requires mirrors to be fitted and in good order, so keep them clean and adjust them for a full view before you move off.
